Obituary for Bessie Lee Moore (Blue)

Reverend Bessie Blue Moore was born on March 16, 1924 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Charlie and Maggie Blue.  She departed this life on January 13, 2018.
She received her early education at what is now Anne Chestnut High School.  She pursued a career in nursing and served as a nurses' aid for many years.  She was a licensed minister and was faithful to her church and community.

She never allowed her circumstance to keep her from doing what God had for her to do.  Early in her ministry she served as pastor for two congregations.  As her ministry grew she carried the Word into prisons and nursing homes.  She was mindful of the teachings of Christ, "what you do to the least of Mine, you've done also unto Me" .

For many years she served as Volunteer Chaplain at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.  She was a life long member of New Bethel AME Zion Church, where she served  as a minister under several senior Pastors  over many years.  As a member of the "cloth" she carried the gospel to all who would listen.  She lived what she taught.  She was God's chosen one and her life serves as an example for us to follow.  Her ministry was the same in private as it was in public.  Her stature was small but her demeanor was large.

She was the mother of nine children and was preceded in death by two of them; Donald and Eddie.  She leaves to morn seven children, James, Alvin, Wanda, Deborah, Margaret, Gwendolyn, and, Darryl.  A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and a host of family and friends.
She will always be missed but will never be forgotten.  We loved her but God loves her !
