Obituary for Deidre Andrea Riddick

Deidre Andrea Riddick departed this earthly life on June 21, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Deidre was born on July 29, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York to Wilford Inman and Wihelmina Riddick.
Deidre graduated from Wingate High School in Brooklyn, New York. Upon completion of high school, she enlisted in the United States Army, where she served proudly for 20 years. While in the Army, Deidre earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars as well as Heroines of Jericho Court Number 83.

At an early age, Deidre established and professed a strong belief in Christ. She was a member of Jesus Peace Ministries and served on the Usher Board Ministry. Deidre’s good nature, kind heart, sense of humor and strong devotion to family and friends allowed her to touch the lives of many. Her outgoing personality was her endearing trademark.

As a loving mother, she provided her children with unconditional love, care and commitment as only a mother can. As a sibling, she gave unconditional love and support. As a daughter, she was obedient and loved her mother dearly. As a friend, she was loyal and true.

Left to treasure her memories are: her sons, Samuel Sylvester IV and Jacquez Sylvester; her mother, Wilhelmina Riddick; father, Wilford Inman; brothers, Derrick, Keith and Curtis; one sister, Tracy; three grandchildren, Samuel Sylvester V, Lennox and Tiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted and dedicated friends.
