Obituary for Taisha Leak (Roberson)

On Saturday, March 3, 2018, God called home to her reward Taisha V. Roberson-Leak. was born on September 29, 1978 in Brooklyn, NY to Horace and Hilda E. Roberson. She spent her early years in New York until the family relocated to Fayetteville. She accepted Christ as her Savior as a youth, became a member of the Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and continued to serve Christ throughout her life. Taisha was married to Christopher Leak on June 28, 2003 and to that union was born a son, Zaviyon J.C. Leak.

Taisha attended the Fayetteville public schools and graduated from Pine Forrest High School in 1997. She also graduated from the Southeast Academy in Florida then went to work for Northwest Airlines. After trying her hand in several career fields, she found her niche as a Customer Service Specialist with AT&T where she was employed until her health began to decline.

Taisha was a loving and doting mother to her “Zay” who was the light of her life, and had a very special bond with her mother. She never met a stranger, was a friend to all she met, had a smile that lit up the room and a hearty contagious laugh. Taisha loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Taisha was preceded in death by her father, Horace, and a son, Coryon D. Washington. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Christopher; son, Zaviyon; mother and papa, Hilda and Brady Henderson; brothers, Anthony Crosland, Anthony and Frederick Roberson; sisters, Sharon Young and Tawanda Roberson; goddaughters, Kianna Shaw and Jordan Johnson; godson, Christopher McQueen; aunts, Gilda (John) McQueen, Caroline Dixon (godmother), Yolanda Atkinson, Fannie (Richard) McQueen; uncles, Melvin (Delores) Ledbetter, Phillip (Shirley) Covington, Michael Ledbetter; special aunts, Julia Page and Mildred Fox; in-laws, Rev. Thomas (Pecolia) Leak; sister-in-laws, Lydia and Tammy Leak; brothers-in-law, Thomas (Felicia), Willie, Michael (Umeko) and Kenny (Keya) Leak; godfather, Rev. Michael (Wendy) Mattis; lifelong girlfriends, Vonte Harvey, Mary Johnson, Winter Keys, Dionne McKinnon and Eshauna Peguese; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
